The April Forecast

Spring is fully underway, and April already feels like a turning point. We’re in the early days of settling into our new home—a project that’s been both energizing and a little chaotic in the best way. This month is shaping up to be a mix of everyday rhythms and quick getaways, with Easter prep, a mid-month trip to Barbados, and the beginning of our design process all in motion. Below, what I’m wearing, buying, eyeing, and organizing as the season unfolds.

What We’re Doing

  • Settling into our new house—we brought in NEAT Method Charleston to help us organize post-move, and it’s easily the best decision we’ve made so far.
  • Traveling to Barbados mid-month with friends. It’s our first time visiting, and I’ve been gathering visual inspiration—palm-filtered light, saturated blues, and the kind of architecture that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.
  • Prepping for Easter. I’ve filled the house with a few of these charming bunnies, which the girls have taken to (carefully) relocating from room to room.
  • Sneaking away for a quick retreat in the Bahamas with a group of women I truly admire.
  • Officially beginning our home design process and meeting with Summer Thornton this week.
  • Opening the pool at our new house, which has become the centerpiece of our girls’ at-home spring break this year.

What I’m Wearing

  • For a dress-up night in Barbados, I’m bringing this Etro dress—it feels right for warm evenings.
  • These green silk pants from Rohe have quickly become my spring uniform. They’re relaxed but smart, especially with a white tank.
  • Speaking of, this white tank is the one I’ve been reaching for most often—clean lines, great cut.
  • This colorful set is equal parts fun and unexpected. I wore the top with jeans last week, saving the full look for an upcoming event.
  • These turquoise and rattan heels feel very me—simple with a standout detail.
  • The Lena sandal by Margaux has fully entered my rotation—comfortable, flattering, and quietly stylish.

What I’m Buying

  • Just ordered this set of marbled glasses for the new bar—beautiful on open shelving.
  • A new colorway in a favorite pair of sneakers—always useful for travel days.
  • Emporio Sirenuse continues to be a go-to. I just added this striking skirt to the mix.
  • On the practical side: these laundry baskets are a recent solve. Thomas requested plastic, I wanted something that still looked good—somehow, these do both.
  • A new hue in my favorite bra (the scoop shape)—the fit is unmatched.
  • Just added this bracelet stack for spring—easy to throw on with anything.
  • For the girls’ Easter baskets, I put together this collection of small, sweet gifts.
  • Restocked my favorite beauty Matcha from Kromathis one is delicious and feels like a treat.
  • This Christopher John Rogers dress is a piece I couldn’t stop thinking about—graphic, sculptural, and beautifully made.

What I’m Eyeing

  • My Gucci loafers are on heavy repeat, and now this updated version is sitting in my cart.
  • This marbled dress just caught my eye with its dramatic color blend.
  • There are a handful of marble accents I’ve been bookmarking for the house. This tray is high on the list.
  • The Frick reopens this month after a major renovation, and I’m tempted to plan a quick trip to NYC to see it (and visit the new Printemps store, too).
  • My jewelry wishlist is always growing, and this Carolina Bucci Soho necklace is currently at the top.
  • I love a good woven texture, and this Salvesen Graham fabric is especially beautiful. I also just pre-ordered their new book to add to my design library.

Barefoot in Bloom

Outfit Details: Julia Amory Dress, SPRWMN Bikini, Janessa Leone Hat, Amazon Sunglasses

Florals look different by the water than they do at a garden party. They get brighter, looser, sunnier — the kind of blooms that belong with bare feet and salt air. They show up embroidered on a caftan, covering a swimsuit, or crawling up a linen matching set.

I like to keep the styling light from there, leaning on pieces with natural texture to compliment the print or motif. A woven bag, a flat sandal, a piece of shell jewelry, an easy hair accessory.

It’s floral dressing with more freedom, made for sun-filled plans built around color, texture, and bare feet.

Retro Twist on Summer Dressing

Pucci DressDries Van Noten HeelsChanel BagDeszo Necklace

I’ve found myself naturally gravitating toward the glamour of 60s and 70s resort dressing, when vacation style felt more expressive and playful, tied to a more carefree way of getting dressed. Catching my eye are pieces with a retro twist that feels like a wink, not a full costume: Pucci-inspired prints and Etro-style paisleys, alongside crochet florals, boldly colored beads, and modular accessories. Together they channel that effortless allure in a way that feels nostalgic but still current, adding just enough character to make summer dressing more memorable.

Wedding Guest Dresses for a Tropical Setting

Outfit Details:
Rosie Assoulin Dress, Ferragamo Heels, Cordera Bag

Dressing for a tropical wedding weekend is its own kind of search. The right dress doesn’t always show up right away — it has to feel special enough to fit amongst the setting, joyful enough to honor the celebration, and light enough to actually work in the heat. A few different things have to land at once, and it’s worth taking the time to get them all right.

These are the guest dresses catching my eye for weekends where the backdrop is palm trees, sunset skies, and the sound of the ocean. Sunny yellows, citron sequins, shades of ocean blue, and sunset hues all feel right here. Printed silks and sheer capes earn their place too, elegant and considered without the weight of something that would leave you overheated by the first toast.

The best options feel polished enough for a special occasion while still holding onto that joyful, easy feeling a tropical destination naturally invokes.
