Just moments after the two actors were locked into place in what Sonnenfeld describes as a “device” that was essentially “hermetically sealed” to film the scene, Will Smith’s fart habit reared its ugly head at the worst possible time.

“I say, ‘Roll camera.’ And I hear Will Smith go, ‘Oh Jesus, so sorry. Tommy, so sorry,’” Sonnenfeld recounted. “And you hear Tommy saying, ‘That’s fine, Will. No worries, Will. Don’t worry, Will.’” Without any clue as to what happened, Sonnenfeld and the rest of the crew raced over to the prop car to help the two actors to find out what had gone wrong.
