What to Wear on a Boat Day
OUTFIT DETAILS: Valentino Jacket, Follow Suit Bikini (bottoms here), Valentino Skirt (on sale), Magda Butrym Scarf, Bottega Veneta Sunglasses, Call It By Your Name Tote
Boat day dressing is less about having one perfect piece and more about the fun of mixing separates that are equal parts functional and stylish. The best pieces layer easily depending on the moment, whether you’re climbing out of the water, heading into town for lunch, or just need a little protection on your shoulders from the midday sun. Prints catch the breeze, crochet and raffia bring texture, and a bright sandal or shell detail feels even better against the water.
Accessories do double duty here, serving form and function in equal measure. A scarf keeps your hair pulled back. Sandals stay put on a wet deck but still feel cute once you’re back on dry land. Color can be a little louder, the details can feel more expressive, and the whole look comes together ready for sun, salt air, and long afternoons on the water.

Sun-Drenched Shades of Yellow
OUTFIT DETAILS: Emporio Sirenuse Dress, Gabriela Hearst Sandals, Magda Butrym Scarf, Cordera Bag, Saint Laurent Sunglasses (similar here)
There’s something about yellow that feels perfectly at home in summer. It’s a shade that instantly lifts the whole day, making everything brighter and more cheerful the second I put it on. And there are so many versions of it to fall for. Whether it be marigold, mustard, deep golden, or limoncello, every shade shares that same sunny warmth.
This dress felt made for a garden, standing amidst golden blooms like it belonged there. That’s the allure of the color really, it doesn’t just fit into a place, it seems to glow a bit brighter because of it. Everything in this edit lives in that happy space, the pieces I reach for when I want summer to feel more golden.

The Anything-Can-Happen Outfit
OUTFIT DETAILS: Leganini Dress (similar here and here), Loeffler Randall Scarf, Hermes Bag (similar here & here), Ancient Greek Sandals, Bottega Veneta Sunglasses, Sherman Field Necklaces
One of the things I love most about summer is how quickly and unexpectedly a whole day can unfold. You leave for a coffee date, stumble into a farmer’s market, then suddenly find yourself grabbing lunch with a friend or popping into a cute shop on the way home. Those are the days that make me want an outfit that feels ready for anything. When I’m not heading out with a real itinerary, I still want to feel dressed for the part, no matter what the little stops turn out to be.
That is where a bit of color, print, and small details go such a long way. Easy and functional enough for that first coffee, but still a full look in itself when the afternoon starts unfolding with plans of its own. Lunch lasts longer, the walk home takes a detour, and what started as one quick stop turns into exactly the kind of summer day worth getting dressed for.

July Forecast
Although we’re technically halfway through the year, I feel like our summer is only just getting started. We’re still in Spain, we extended our trip by a week at the last minute because we simply weren’t ready to come home. There’s a few more trips ahead this month, a little pre-fall shopping (I don’t make the fashion calendar, I promise), and our kitchen renovation to come home to. Here’s a look at the month ahead!
What We’re Doing
- We just wrapped five days at Marbella Club and it was even better than we hoped. We could barely get the girls to hang out with us because they wanted to be at the kids club the entire time!
- We head home, then leave again for the Hamptons for a short photoshoot for a brand.
- After that we’re home for a bit before heading back to the Hamptons to spend a few days with friends, then flying to Switzerland to meet more friends for the last leg of our summer travels.
- I’m looking forward to Switzerland and Austria at the end of the month. It’ll be a nice reprieve from the heat, and it’s a new spot we’ve never been to.
- We get a peek at our kitchen renovation once we’re home this week. It’s still only halfway through, but I can’t wait to see the progress!
What I’m Wearing
Here are the repeat MVPs of our trip:
I have a few pieces I’m saving for the end of our trip that I haven’t worn yet:

What I’m Buying
I know it’s a little wild to be talking pre-fall at the start of July, but I don’t make the fashion calendar! Pieces I pre-ordered are starting to trickle in, and here’s what I’m reaching for this fall (plus I can wear some of it a little early in Switzerland and Austria next month):
I’m having an orange moment right now, and here’s what’s on my list:

And to wrap up, some really good designer sale finds:
