Toronto FC signed forward Daniel Salloi to a contract extension through 2027 with an option for 2027-28, the club announced Tuesday.

Toronto acquired the 29-year-old Hungarian veteran from Sporting Kansas City last month in a deal worth up to $1 million in general allocation money.

Salloi has scored two goals in his first four matches (three starts) with the Reds, finding the net in a 1-0 victory at FC Cincinnati on March 8 and in Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Red Bull New York.

“We are happy to formally announce the extension of Daniel at this time. Prior to joining our club, we discussed with Daniel both our intentions regarding his role in our project and a revised contractual commitment,” Toronto general manager Jason Hernandez said.

“It was our belief that Daniel should not arrive at TFC on an expiring contract; therefore, we aligned on terms for his extension before he joined us in February. This step has allowed him to focus solely on integrating with the team and performing his best during the beginning of the 2026 season. We look forward to the continued work together this year and beyond.”

Salloi spent a decade with Sporting KC, tallying 67 goals and 47 assists in 287 appearances across all competitions from 2016-25. He was an MLS All-Star in 2021 and helped SKC win the U.S. Open Cup in 2017.
