Star Trek Getting A Theme Park Attraction

Well before the announcement that Star Trek would be getting its own attraction, theme parks marketed “4D” attractions as ones that blended practical elements with things that might happen onscreen or on a ride.

For example, Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney World has a sequence where a character in a 3D short film shoots water toward the viewer as real water squirts on the audience.

It’s not clear how this Trek ride will institute a fifth dimension (time travel, perhaps?), but you can probably expect, at minimum, a Star Tours-style 3D screen and 4D motion seating to simulate a ship tumultuously moving through space.
