Two days after straining his left hamstring, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez landed on the 10-day injured list Friday, and the man who replaced him in left field was sent to the minors, too.

Hyeseong Kim had never played left field before Wednesday, when Hernandez got hurt running out a ground ball in the second inning against the Colorado Rockies.

Kim finished that game, and the team was idle on Thursday before he was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday ahead of the opener of Los Angeles’ three-game home series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

To fill the roster vacancies, the Dodgers recalled infielder/outfielder Ryan Ward from Triple-A Oklahoma City and re-signed infielder/outfielder Santiago Espinal.

Hernandez, 33, has a .276 batting average, seven home runs and 31 RBIs through 51 games this year. He was on a hot streak when he got hurt, hitting .375 with three home runs and 14 RBIs over his past 14 games.

The two-time All-Star owns a career .261 average, .317 on-base percentage, .482 slugging percentage, 224 home runs and 692 RBIs in 1,150 career games. He has played for the Houston Astros (2016-17), the Toronto Blue Jays (2017-22), the Seattle Mariners (2023) and the Dodgers.

Kim, 27, produced a .259/.323/.328 batting line with one homer and 11 RBIs in 43 games this year. He made his major league debut for Los Angeles last year, batting .280/.314/.385 with three home runs and 17 RBIs in 71 games.

Espinal, 31, was outrighted to Oklahoma City on Thursday after clearing waivers. He hit .220 with one homer and four RBIs in 26 games for Los Angeles this season before he was designated for assignment on Monday.

Ward, 28, joined the Dodgers for his major league debut last month. He went 2-for-6 across two games during Freddie Freeman’s stay on the paternity list.

Ward was hitting .254 with six home runs and 31 RBIs in 47 games in Triple-A this year after amassing 36 home runs and 122 RBIs for Oklahoma City last year. He has 156 home runs over seven minor league seasons.

Left-hander Blake Snell, who had left elbow surgery earlier this month, was transferred to the 60-day IL to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Espinal.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays wiped out a five-run deficit with late-game offense to stun the host Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Friday.

Charles McAdoo homered in his major league debut and Kazuma Okamoto also went deep during the comeback by the Blue Jays, who have won eight of their past 10 games.

Toronto reliever Mason Fluharty (3-0) threw 1 1/3 hitless innings. Braydon Fisher handled the ninth inning to notch his first career save, pitching around a two-out error.

Jackson Holliday, Pete Alonso and Samuel Basallo hit two-out solo home runs for the Orioles, who have lost back-to-back games to Toronto since a three-game sweep of the American League-best Tampa Bay Rays.

Baltimore’s Trevor Rogers pitched into the seventh inning in a bid to win for the first time in eight starts. Rogers, who went 0-6 in his previous seven assignments, worked six shutout frames before yielding two-run homers to Okamoto and McAdoo in the seventh without recording another out.

Rogers wound up charged with four runs on six hits and a walk in six-plus innings. He struck out three.

Yennier Cano (1-2) took the loss after he gave up two runs in the eighth while recording just one out.

Daulton Varsho and Guerrero each had two hits for Toronto. Basallo and Holliday countered with two hits apiece for Baltimore.

The Blue Jays went with Adam Macko, who made his first career start, in an opener’s role. He gave up three hits but no runs in 1 2/3 innings. Austin Voth was charged with five runs on five hits and four walks in 3 1/3 innings.

The Orioles posted two runs in the third inning. After a single and two walks, Adley Rutschman drew a bases-loaded walk, and Basallo followed two batters later with a sacrifice fly.

Holliday’s second home run of the season — both coming during the current homestand — pushed the lead to 3-0 in the fourth.

Alonso and Basallo went deep back-to-back in the fifth.

Undrafted rookie Pauline Astier scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out six assists as the New York Liberty held on for a 75-68 victory over the Phoenix Mercury Friday night in New York.

Astier’s two free throws with nine seconds helped ice the game.

Betnijah Laney-Hamilton scored 13 points for the Liberty (5-4), who have won two in a row.

Kaleah Copper scored 16 points to pave the way for the Mercury (2-7), who have lost five in a row. Alyssa Thomas finished with 15 points and eight assists while Monique Akoa Makani added 13.

The Liberty took a 34-31 lead into halftime and led 39-33 with 7:25 left in the third after Leonie Fiebich scored on a backdoor cut, drawing a foul and making the ensuing free throw.

But Copper pulled up for a jumper at the 6:06 mark, knotting the score at 39-39, marking the first tie of the game and Copper’s first field goal.

New York responded with a 9-0 run, highlighted by 3-pointers from Jonquel Jones and Han Xu that put the Liberty up 48-39 with 3:38 left in the quarter.

Phoenix closed to 54-52 on a pair of DeWanna Bonner free throws with 59 seconds left but New York finished the third with a 59-54 advantage.

By the 6:59 mark of the fourth, the Liberty were up by double digits as Rebekah Gardner drove through the lane for a layup and a 67-57 lead.

Phoenix battled back to get within 67-65 after a pair of free throws by Bonner with 3:35 to go.

The Mercury was within 71-68 after a 3-pointer from Makani and Bonner attempted a long range shot that would have tied the game with 17 seconds remaining.

Meeting for the second time in three days, New York led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter and stretched its advantage to double digits after Astier made back-to-back baskets for a 23-12 lead with 7:34 remaining in the half.

Thomas got the deficit back to nine (23-14) after scoring on a putback with 6:34 to go.

Thomas later went coast to coast for a layup off a turnover, cutting the Liberty lead to 27-23 with 2:58 left in the half.

Thomas pulled Phoenix within 31-29 with 1:05 left after hitting a pair of free throws but New York answered on a 3-pointer from Laney-Hamilton for a 34-29 edge with 46 seconds left until halftime.
