Randy Arozarena of the Seattle Mariners is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s road game against the Athletics.

Arozarena sat out Monday’s series opener due to a right hamstring injury. He is serving as the designated hitter for Tuesday’s game and batting fourth.

Arozarena injured the hamstring during Sunday’s loss to the Texas Rangers.

The left fielder is batting .224 with five homers, 18 RBIs and eight stolen bases in 32 games this season.

Arozarena’s unavailability Monday hurt the Mariners during their 7-6, 11-inning loss to the Athletics.

Seattle ran out of position players prior to the bottom of the 11th and had to move second baseman Leo Rivas to left field and forfeit the designated hitter for the rest of the night by entering DH Jorge Polanco at second base.

“We were giving him a day to rest the hamstring,” Mariners manager Dan Wilson said after the contest. “That was the decision there.”

Arozarena has hit at least 20 homers in each of the past four seasons. Seattle acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays prior to last season’s trade deadline.
