March Forecast

It feels like we somehow landed in March without much of an introduction. Thankfully, Charleston always delivers this time of year, with dreamy weather that makes it hard to stay indoors. We’ve been leaning into it where we can — lingering after school pick-up at the park or stretching out a little longer on the porch with popsicles in hand. Here’s a glimpse into my month ahead…

What We’re Doing

  • Shopbop in Charleston. Shopbop is in town this week, which feels especially fun given how many great brands are making their way to Charleston this spring. They kicked off their King Street pop-up with cocktails last night with Veronica Beard, and it was a great almost-end to the week. You can shop my edit on their site here– I update it weekly!
  • We have our first collaboration of 2026 launching at the end of the month, and we’ll be shooting it next week. Our team has been having a lot of fun pushing into new creative territory for this one, and I’m very excited to share more soon.
  • Easter basket season. I say this every year, but I really do love Easter. It was always such a memorable holiday in our family, and I love carrying that forward with my own girls. We’re not doing anything major this year since life feels especially full at the moment, but I’ve started gathering a few basket fillers, like these, these, these, these, and these. These baskets are also so cute.
  • A Coreli update. I’m forever singing the praises of Coreli. I’m so proud of what they’re building, and they’ve had two exciting updates recently: you can now upload your own imagery directly into your build, and they’ve also launched a referral program, so you can earn when you send someone their way.
  • A new training routine. I’ve really enjoyed getting into weightlifting, but at the start of the year I told Thomas I was ready to take it a step further. As much as I love working out with him, I’m definitely more dependent on his guidance than I’d like to be, and I’m nowhere near as motivated at home. I just started private training at Basecamp, and I’m excited to build on everything I’ve learned so far.
  • Spring break plans. Spring break is about a month away, and we’re heading to the new Potlatch Club in the Bahamas, designed by Amanda Lindroth, with some of our closest friends. I’m already looking forward to a little real rest. One of the best parts of this stage with our kids is that when they’re with friends, they’re genuinely so self-sufficient, which makes the whole trip feel far more relaxing for everyone.

What I’m Wearing

  • A suede-and-crochet jacket I loved immediately. This suede-and-crochet jacket was an immediate yes for me. It’s just so good. I wore it last night over this Veronica Beard dress. Sea has consistently been one of my favorite collections in recent years.
  • A chartreuse kitten-heel mule. I love a kitten-heel mule. It’s what I reach for almost anytime I want a little height in the evening. This satin chartreuse pair was an instant yes, and that heel is the best finishing touch.
  • A tassel mini worn as a top. I’ll be wearing this green tassel mini as a top this spring.
  • A brooch under $100. A chic brooch I recently picked up for under $100.
  • Navy trousers are worth the wait. I had been patiently waiting for these navy trousers to come off pre-order. I love the lace scarf-waist detail — it feels especially right for spring.
  • My custom Call It By Your Name bags. My Call It By Your Name bags finally arrived after a few patient weeks, and I’m so happy I went the custom route. I love the play of color.
  • Silk mini shorts, back again. Silk mini shorts seem to be back again this spring, and Dôen got me with this green pair, which I’ll be wearing with this coordinating short sweater.
  • Mother Denim with a relaxed Chanel jacket. These Mother Denim jeans have a very ’70s, slightly bohemian feel, but still read understated. I recently wore them here with a relaxed Chanel jacket, which is one of my favorite uniforms.
  • A La DoubleJ favorite, now in poncho form. This La DoubleJ fringe top was one of my favorite pieces last fall, and one of yours too — it ended up being a bestseller for us. This fringe poncho version just launched, and it’s so good. I wore it this week with an old Dries Van Noten skirt and was stopped several times to ask about it.

What I’m Buying

  • Two mini bags I love. This pink tassel mini bucket bag just arrived, and this Ganni floral version is also so good.
  • A new pre-workout yogurt flavor. I eat Greek yogurt with added protein every morning before a workout, and I recently swapped my usual vanilla for this strawberry flavor. Total game changer.
  • Feathers, always. Feathers always have a place in my closet, no matter the time of year. This piece is such a fun one, and the dress version is also amazing.
  • Summer Fridays’ first perfume. I’ve always loved Summer Fridays, especially their newer lip combinations, but their first perfume — such a good vanilla — completely has my attention right now.
  • A crochet cover-up for spring break. For spring break, I had to get this crochet cover-up, but I also think it will look so good worn over jeans. I’d pair it with this bag I bought last year for a more bohemian mood.
  • A new highlighter. I ordered this highlighter after being completely sold by the reviews.
  • Etro’s fringe bags. Etro has some of the best fringe bags this season. Just look at this one, this one, and this one.
  • A Merlette dress I love every year. I love these loose, almost shapeless dresses by Merlette and tend to get one every year. I especially love how they styled it with this top layered over it for even more volume.
  • What I’m loving for my girls this spring:
  • Murano glasses for the house. I recently purchased these mixed-color Murano glasses and get endless compliments on them.
  • A scarf detail for spring. I’ll be tying this around the waist of a simple white look this spring.
  • A poolside staple. You’ll find me in this poolside all summer.
  • Alaïa wedge mules in two great colors. These Alaïa wedge mules in chartreuse or turquoise feel like a must for spring.
  • A very good green top. This Dries Van Noten top is very good.

What I’m Eyeing

  • The Dior show. Is anyone else still thinking about the Dior show this week? It was breathtaking. Every detail felt so considered. The jackets completely stole the show for me, and I’ll be waiting impatiently to see what actually makes it into production. I also loved some of the Monet-inspired details, like the lily pad brooch and earrings, which could have tipped too far, but absolutely didn’t. Here and here.
  • The shoes at Prada. Another recent runway detail I haven’t stopped thinking about: the shoes at Prada. So good.
  • Prada this season. There are so many beautiful Prada pieces this season, but I’m especially drawn to this Peter Pan-collar leather jacket, this chartreuse skirt, and these pink crochet flats.
  • A Zimmermann maxi dress. I can’t stop thinking about this Zimmermann tie-dye maxi dress.
  • Chanel spring/summer. The new Chanel spring/summer collection drops next week, and I already have my eye on one of the new raffia fringe bags, this turquoise croc-effect tote, and this necklace.
  • Lace-trim jeans. How amazing are these lace-trim wide-leg jeans?
  • A dress on my spring wishlist. This dress is firmly on my spring wishlist.
  • Animal print for spring. Animal print isn’t going anywhere this spring, and I’ve had my eye on this Bambi skirt and matching jacket.
  • A colorful Kujten knit. This colorful fringe sweater is so good. I’m such a fan of Kujten.

The Power of Red

Red in 2026 is about placement and tone—cherry, crimson, scarlet, cranberry—each bringing its own depth to an outfit. A pop can start small: a woven tote in a rich shade, a satin flat in bright poppy, a croc-embossed belt defining the waist, or a sculptural ring.

Layering red through knitwear and outerwear creates dimension, especially when mixing finishes like cashmere with silk or suede with polished leather. A ruby headband, a silk scarf knotted at the neck, or a structured hat in a saturated hue introduces color with clarity.

Even beauty plays a role—lacquered nails or a vivid lip and cheek mirroring the accessories. Whether woven through tailoring or concentrated in a single accessory, red adds shape, focus, and a sense of direction to everyday dressing.

Step Into Color

Malene Birger Top (more sizes here and here), ChanLuu PantsFerragamo Pumps, similar Etsy BroochValentino Bag, Sherman Field (sold out, similar here) & Arielle Ratner Necklaces

After months of boots (mostly black and neutral), I’m ready for color at my feet again. As the silhouettes get lighter and the layers fall away, saturated heels and bright flats don’t feel bold, they feel natural.

Colorful shoes shift the mood of everything else you’re wearing. They draw the eye downward and wake up even the simplest look. A crisp shirt and tailored pant, a knit and denim, a slip dress all feel sharper when the shoe carries pigment.

If color at your feet feels intimidating, approach it with balance. Keep the outfit clean. A crisp shirt, tailored pant, simple knit, and let the shoe be the focus. A red pump with navy. A lilac slingback with grey. A cobalt flat against ivory. When the lines are tailored and the palette is controlled, the color reads refined.

If you prefer more impact, contrast colors. A green heel with a blue dress. A pink flat under a striped skirt. Citrus with chocolate. It doesn’t have to match perfectly; it just has to feel cohesive.

It’s simply an expansion of what feels wearable. After winter’s darker register, color feels fresh, expressive, and right for the warmer months ahead.

The Three Piece Uniform

AYR Shirt, Plain Goods Sweater (similar here), Donni Pants, Chanel Flats (similar here), Hermes Bag (similar here), LGR Sunglasses

The rule of three is a reliable framework for getting dressed. It creates balance, depth, and intention through structure. The three components: a foundation, a defining layer, and a structured finish work across styles, colors, and seasons, and offers a clear way to approach dressing whether you are mixing tones, introducing layers, or building a personal uniform. Here are three ways to apply this simple, effective way to get dressed.

The Foundation

Begin with a clean base such as a button-down, a tee, or a lightweight knit. Add a second piece to establish proportion. Then introduce a sweater or cardigan worn over the shoulders. This placement creates movement across the upper frame and adds depth to the overall look. It refines proportion and brings a sense of ease while maintaining clarity in the silhouette.

The Defining Layer

The second piece can be a deliberate detail that anchors the look. A sculptural brooch placed on crisp shirting introduces dimension and focal point. A leather belt defining tailored trousers strengthens the line of the outfit and sharpens the waist. A scarf tied at the hip over trousers brings fluidity and visual interest. These elements guide the eye and give the composition direction.

The Structured Finish

A tailored outer layer establishes presence. A light jacket, cardigan, trench, shirt jacket, or cropped coat frames what is underneath and shapes the overall proportion. Structure creates cohesion from shoulder to hem and reinforces the intention of the look. Even the simplest foundation gains clarity when it is anchored by a strong outer layer.
