We track Apple deals year-round — Black Friday season is bringing some of the best prices we've seen

Table of Contents

UPDATE: Nov. 13, 2024, 1:47 p.m. EST This post has been updated with the latest Apple deals leading up to Black Friday, including a new price drop on the Apple Watch Series 10 and the 13-inch iPad Air.

If you think Apple doesn’t show up with good deals during Black Friday season, think again.

It’s true that if you’re shopping straight from the Apple Store, you won’t see any special deals: For starters, you will likely have to wait until Nov. 29 (the actual day of Black Friday) for its annual gift card promotion, which gives customers gift cards for future use alongside their purchase of an iPhone, MacBook, or iPad at full price.

The trick is to shop from retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart — the latter two have already started their official Black Friday programming, but as we get into the full swing of the shopping holiday season, you’ll find deals at all three. As of Nov. 13, Amazon is especially bringing the heat, with markdowns on the new MacBooks starting at 16GB of memory, Apple Watches, and even the 13-inch iPad Air, which is $200 off (and at its lowest price ever by a good $100).

Basically, if you’re looking to get some early holiday shopping in, it’s a good time to check out Apple products. Below, you’ll find our top picks for the best Apple deals ahead of Black Friday.

Why we like it

Check out our full review of the M2 MacBook Air.

A couple of weeks ago, the MacBook Air got a quiet RAM upgrade, without a price hike. Now, we’re seeing the M2 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on sale for $749.99 — that’s just 99 cents more than where the same model with 8GB of RAM was last week. With these specs, this MacBook will be more than capable of handling everyday tasks with ease, while offering you more flexibility to run more (and more intensive) programs at once. Considering Mashable reporter Alex Perry called this laptop “just about the ideal work-from-home (or work-from-wherever, really) companion,” in his review, this memory upgrade is certainly welcome.

Why we like it

Check out our full review of the 13-inch iPad Air.

The 13-inch iPad Air with 512GB certainly isn’t the cheapest version of this model, but for someone who would appreciate the larger display and storage, this is a killer deal. This model typically doesn’t see price drops of $100, let alone $200. The M2-powered tablet works well for folks who prefer their tablet to double as a laptop, as Mashable tech editor Kim Gedeon writes in her review. The 13 inches of display could be a welcome upgrade for artists (though this tablet comes with a 60Hz LCD panel compared to the iPad Pro’s OLED display). That said, Gedeon noted that in ideal lighting, it’s hard to tell the difference between the displays on the Pro and the Air.

Apple Watch deals ahead of Black Friday

Why we like it

Read more from Mashable about the Apple Watch Series 10.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is officially $50 off, marking its biggest discount to date. Last Black Friday, we saw the Series 9 Watch drop down to $329 for a total markdown of $70 off. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar deal this time around, but if you don’t want to wait a couple weeks (and risk any colors selling out), this is a solid price on this smartwatch that just dropped two months ago.

AirPods deals ahead of Black Friday

Why we like it

Check out our full review of the AirPods Pro.

Whether you’re a frequent flyer or someone who simply appreciates quality noise-cancelling headphones, we’re betting you’d be a fan of the AirPods Pro. Though $189.99 isn’t their lowest price ever — these earbuds dropped all the way to $168.99 over October Prime Day — it’s still nearly $60 off earbuds that we think are worth it at full price (though they drop down in price to $199 enough that we recommend waiting to grab them on sale). Alongside top-notch ANC, you’ll get six hours of battery life per charge, balanced sound, and of course, a seamless integration into the Apple ecosystem, making these earbuds some of our favorite headphones, period.

Best Mothers Day gifts: Show mom some love

Mother figures are the backbone of the world. Yours may be your biological mother, or maybe she’s your mother-in-law, your best friend’s mom, or simply someone whose motherly instinct has helped you through hard times.

Moms teach you the adulting necessities, give advice even if the problem is your fault, and above all, they put up with your shit and (almost) never complain.

The game plan here isn’t just to snag the last bouquet at CVS just so you’re not the kid who forgot Mother’s Day (but definitely also get flowers). And you don’t even need to spend a lot of money. (Peep our list of Mother’s Day gifts that cost less than $50. Want even more cheap gift ideas?

Skip the generic mugs and show your appreciation with a gift picked just for her: Whether it’s something to make a part of her life easier, something she’s mentioned wanting in passing, or simply something to make her feel like a damn queen, you can’t put a price on everything she’s done for you, but heartfelt gifts certainly help.

After all, they say “No matter how hard you try, you always end up like your mother.” But is that even a bad thing?

Alternate Wordle versions created by fans also sprang up, including battle royale Squabble, music identification game Heardle, and variations like Dordle and Quordle that make you guess multiple words at once

The entire archive of past Wordle puzzles was originally available for anyone to enjoy whenever they felt like it, but it was later taken down, with the website’s creator stating it was done at the request of the New York Times. However, the New York Times then rolled out its own Wordle Archive, available only to NYT Games subscribers.

Is Wordle getting harder?

It might feel like Wordle is getting harder, but it actually isn’t any more difficult than when it first began. You can turn on Wordle‘s Hard Mode if you’re after more of a challenge, though.
