The Dallas Wings will look to build on a four-game winning streak when they host the Chicago Sky on Sunday in their home away from home.

The Wings’ home venue in Arlington, Texas, seats 7,000, but they will play host to the Sky in the 19,200-seat arena that is home to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

The Wings (15-8) returned to Dallas after sweeping four games on the road over an eight-day stretch, with the latest victory a come-from-behind 108-95 decision over the Toronto Tempo on Friday before a WNBA-record crowd of 20,996 fans in Montreal, Canada.

Paige Bueckers led the way for Dallas with 34 points, marking the sixth time in the last seven contests and 12th time this year that the second-year star guard paced the Wings in scoring.

“It was a good win, especially in the last game of this four-game road trip,” Dallas coach Jose Fernandez said. “Four straight wins on the road is huge.”

Dallas also received 20 points and 17 rebounds from Jessica Shepard in Friday’s win, while Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points and seven assists. Azzi Fudd scored 13 points, and Alysha Clark had 10.

“We’ve learned that we’re fighters,” Bueckers said. “We’re resilient. We stay composed and stay together regardless of what run the other team goes on. We fight until the final buzzer. We have different people who can step in and contribute on any given night. We’re a selfless team that’s willing to sacrifice for whoever has it going that night.”

“It’s really fun to play when everybody loves each other, loves coming to work, and shares the same goal, which is winning.”

Dallas has not won five straight games since July 7-22, 2023, the most recent season that the Wings earned a spot in the playoffs.

The Sky (7-15) travel to Big D for the final game of a four-game road trip, following a 102-87 setback to the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday. The loss was the third in the past four outings for Chicago, which was led by Kamilla Cardoso’s 15 points and eight rebounds. Sydney Taylor and reserve Gabriela Jaquez added 15 points each for the Sky, with Azura Stevens and Jacy Sheldon contributing 10 points each.

“We’ve been hanging our hat on our fight, on our grit, on our toughness, on our resilience,” Chicago coach Tyler Marsh said. “I think (against the Sparks) we just recognized this wasn’t the level of energy that we’ve approached the last several games with. We got to recommit to that.”

Skylar Diggins (right knee) missed her second straight game for Chicago. Marsh said Friday that the team doesn’t have a timeline for Diggins’ return and added that conversations about her role remain ongoing.

The Wings have won the first two games of the season series with Chicago, capturing contests on the road by 10 points May 20 and by one at home a month later.

Chase Meidroth’s RBI double lifted the Chicago White Sox to a 1-0 win over the visiting Athletics on Saturday.

Meidroth was 2-for-3 and Luisangel Acuna had two hits, while five Chicago pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout.

Erick Fedde (5-6) earned the win after allowing two hits and no runs, while walking one and striking out three over four innings. Grant Taylor walked one and struck out two over 1 2/3 innings to earn his fourth save of the season.

Joshua Kuroda-Grauer was 2-for-4 with a double and Jacob Wilson was 2-for-4 with a triple for the A’s.

Athletics starter Gage Jump (3-4) allowed one run on five hits, walked two and fanned seven in 5 2/3 innings.

The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the sixth. Colson Montgomery coaxed a two-out walk and scored on Meidroth’s double. Luis Medina relieved Jump and his first pitch hit Braden Montgomery, but he struck out Acuna on three pitches to end the inning.

Earlier, with one out in the second, Kuroda-Grauer singled to center and Lawrence Butler drew a walk. Carlos Cortes flied out to right, but Braden Montgomery’s throw sailed wide of second, allowing both runners to advance to second and third.

Randal Grichuk’s diving grab of Jeff McNeil’s popup into shallow left got Chicago out of the jam.

In the third, Grichuk’s one-out double skipped past a diving Kuroda-Grauer at third and rattled around in the left field corner. Munetaka Murakami walked, but Miguel Vargas grounded into an inning-ending 5-4-3 double play.

Kuroda-Grauer lined a leadoff double to left field to open the seventh, and Sean Newcomb relieved Fedde. After Newcomb walked Lawrence Butler, pinch hitters Colby Thomas and Alika Williams each popped out before Henry Bolte struck out to end the threat.

Wilson led off the eighth with a triple. After Tyler Soderstrom grounded out, Newcomb gave way to Taylor, who ended the inning with a strikeout and a groundout.

After Bryan Hudson pitched a 1-2-3 first, Chris Murphy tossed a scoreless second before Fedde entered and settled into a groove, retiring the first 10 batters he faced.

Victor Caratini’s double down the left field line scored Royce Lewis for the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Minnesota Twins notched a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis.

Lewis had earlier in the game hit a two-run home run and the Twins held a three-run lead before the Angels rallied to tie. But Minnesota scored two runs in the seventh, starting with a Lewis double, Caratini’s double and Alan Roden’s run-scoring base hit, to take a two-run lead and hold on.

Both of those runs were charged to Angels reliever Mitch Farris (0-1).

The Angels threatened in the top of the ninth against Twins closer Yoendrys Gomez. Mike Trout singled and Nolan Schanuel walked with one out, but Gomez got Jorge Soler to pop out and struck out Vaughn Grissom on a foul tip to end the game.

Gomez picked up his 11th save of the season.

Twins reliever Tommy Nance (2-2) allowed his first run with the team after arriving Friday in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays. Nance got two outs in the top of the seventh with a runner on base, then Schanuel singled to drive in Zach Neto for a 3-3 tie.

In the top of the third, Soler’s double to left field drove in two runs to cut the Twins’ lead to 3-2. But Minnesota starter Joe Ryan was able to get the next two outs and strand Soler.

Ryan allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks in six innings of work.

Lewis’ two-run home run got the Twins off to an early lead. He drove a pitch from Angels starter Ryan Johnson an estimated 419 feet to the left field upper deck in the top of the second inning.

The home run was the 10th of the season for Lewis.

Johnson gave up three runs and three hits over five innings. He walked three and struck out one.

The game was delayed about 30 minutes for a Twins Hall of Fame induction ceremony on the field at Target Field.
