The March Forecast

March is here, and with it comes a season of change—quite literally for us! This month is all about fresh starts, big moves (in more ways than one), and embracing the energy that spring brings. We’re settling into a new home, diving into exciting projects, and making room for more time outside as Charleston comes alive with events and warmer weather. From what I’m wearing to what’s catching my eye, here’s a look at what’s shaping the month ahead.

What We’re Doing

  • The biggest news of the month—we’re moving! March will be all about packing, unpacking, and making our new house feel like home.
  • Creating a wave of new video content for Trade Offs, our Substack. If you’re not subscribed yet, now’s the time to join!
  • Charleston comes alive in the spring, and our weekends are booked with family outings and events. It’s truly one of the best times of year to be here.
  • Spring break looks a little different this year—no travel for us as we settle into the house, but we’re making up for it with a Barbados getaway next month with friends.
  • Prepping for a major summer collaboration (part two!) with a shoot coming up. It’s so good—I can’t wait to share.
  • Adding more weight training into my workouts, committing to 2-3 sessions a week. Thomas wrote about my approach on Substack if you’re curious!
  • With a new home comes new garden plans. A trip to Hyams nursery is high on the list to bring some life to the space.

What I’m Wearing

What I’m Buying

  • I recently started trying some of the Kroma Health products, and love their matcha. It’s similar to the one I drink from a local brand that blends ginger with the matcha, but I love that the Kroma one has no added sweetness.
  • This set makes me crave sunshine: (top & pants).
  • This Prada bag has been sitting in my cart for a while, and I finally took the plunge.
  • I think this Turquoise sheath dress is effortlessly chic.
  • Thong sandals seem to be the IT shoe for summer. I am pre-ordering these.
  • I got this tablecloth and the matching napkins from the new Cabana Magazine collection. It’s stunning and I’m planning to set my Easter table with it.
  • Cadets has the cutest spring collection, and I got something for everyone in our whole fam. I got this skirt for myself, this dress for my girls, and these swim trunks for Thomas (in the rum punch plaid).

What I’m Eyeing

  • This Marissa Klass necklace—a true one-of-a-kind. Her pieces have an artistry that feels both rare and unforgettable.
  • Lingua Franca’s new spring collection is full of energy and charm. I’m all in—especially for this top and this skirt.
  • This list of the best boutique hotels in Paris is definitely worth bookmarking.
  • My friend Cristina creates the most beautiful hand-painted hairbrushes—like this Easter bunny design. Such a perfect little gift for any basket!
  • The Bottega Veneta Hop bag—one of my favorite styles—gets an unexpected twist with woven leather and raffia. The texture is next-level, and now it’s at the top of my wishlist.
  • The new Simon Miller collection is a fun take on spring. It’s filled with raffia in every shape and form – I’ve got my eye on this fish clutch, this mini dress and this shell bag.
  • This Dries Van Noten coverup is coming with me to Barbados—bold, effortless, and just right for the trip.
  • Dreaming of a getaway to Summer Thorton’s Casa Rosada—where every corner feels like a work of art.

Colorful Swimwear & Printed Coverups for Spring Travel

Eres Bikini, Irene Neurwirth Earrings, Celine Sunglasses (similar here)

After another round of snow in the Northeast, and even Charleston seeing colder days, spring trips somewhere warm are officially on the radar. This season’s swimwear is defined by saturated color and graphic print. Teal paired with violet. Red with pink. Stripes mixed with solids. Pieces don’t have to match perfectly. Slightly off combinations make the trip feel more playful.

Beyond the bikini, the supporting pieces matter just as much: printed pareos, structured kaftans, rose-toned knits, fringed wraps, or embellished peak-a-boo pants. A strong kaftan or tunic is the easiest thing to throw on after a swim, polished enough for lunch, relaxed enough for walking back through town. Lightweight trousers in breathable cotton work just as well, especially in easy silhouettes with elastic waists and wider legs that move comfortably in the heat.

The focus is simple: swim that stands out, layers that carry you through the day, and color that feels right against sun and water.

Subtle Statement

Bahia Maria Dress, Prada Bag (old, similar here and here), Gucci Sandals (similar here and here)

When you’re dressing in that space between minimalist and maximalist, the focus shifts to nuance, with pieces that feel special because of how they’re constructed and finished.

Fringe
Trim at a hemline. A subtle edge along a sleeve. Movement integrated into the design. Often rendered in ivory or tonal shades so the texture carries the detail.

Lace
Inserted at the base of a skirt. Layered beneath tailoring so it reveals itself in contrast. Framing a neckline on silk. Applied as placement, not overlay.

Structure & Silhouette
Sculpted bodices. Architectural necklines. Wrap forms with defined drape. Precise tailoring and clean seaming that hold shape.

Texture
Tone-on-tone jacquard. Embroidery embedded into dark fabric. Airy mohair knit. Studded leather on a classic heel. Crochet worked into a structured bag.

Softness
Fluid skirts paired with defined tops. Silk set against sharper lines. Sheer layers under weightier cloth. Drape balanced with form.

These are pieces defined by proportion and finish. The interest comes from construction and fabric.

Meet Your Match: Matching Prints to Statement Bags

Hermes ShirtEres Bikini, Xirena Pants (similar here), Hermes ToteDior SunglassesAmazon Claw

There’s something undeniably fun about spotting a print you love and building the entire look around it especially when the bag gets to join in. This is about matching your outfit to your bag in a way that feels bold, coordinated, and fully styled. Pucci-inspired swirls paired with turquoise silk. Brocade minis meeting embroidered shoulder bags. Zebra prints styled with saturated colors. Missoni chevrons echoed in woven, multicolor pouches. Stripe skirts that pick up the exact tone of a hand-stitched bag.

When the palette aligns and the pattern energy matches, the result feels cohesive, elevated, and ready for summer events, vacation dinners, and statement moments.

Match the Color Story

When you find a print you love, look closely at the palette. Pull one dominant shade and echo it in your bag so the tones feel aligned from head to toe.

How to Style It

Lean into clean silhouettes and defined shapes — structured shoulder bags, tailored minis, sharp halter necklines, wrap skirts with movement.

Where to Wear It

The kind of moments where bold print and a matching bag feel like part of the fun, where getting dressed is half the reason you’re going.
