Let the Accessories Lead

Outfit Details: Zimmermann Top, Francoise Pants, Valentino Belt, Chanel Bag, Dior Heels, Jenna Blake Elephant Pendant

Whenever I pack for a trip, my accessories get their own system. I sort them into pouches that double as clutches once I arrive, and they are the first things I lay out in the room, before the dresses are hung or the shoes find their corner. A printed scarf. A beaded necklace. A pair of sculptural sunglasses. That is when the outfits start to take shape, giving everything else in my suitcase a little more direction.

The fastest way to make something feel new is to change what you put with it. Not the dress, not the pants, but the pieces around them. I’ve styled these striped pants before, but with a sweet kitten heel and a belt with movement, they read completely different from the last time. That is really the whole idea. A striped heel with a colorful pant. A belt that changes the shape of a dress. An ankle strap that looks more like jewelry than hardware. The pieces that carry the most personality tend to be the unexpected ones, the ones with real color and a detail you did not see coming.

The Lunch Reservation Edit

Outfit Details: Wiggy Kit Dress, Janessa Leone Hat, Loewe Sunglasses, Miu Miu Flats (similar here and here), Wiggy Kit Dress, Retrosuperfuture Sunglasses, Similar Tote Here

One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering new restaurants. Not just for the food, but for the way the room comes together through color, table settings, and the menus. Before we head to a reservation, I almost always look up the restaurant first, partly to get excited, but also so I have a sense of the vibe I want to dress for.

For me, the perfect lunch look is a colorful daytime dress, dressed up ever so slightly with a bag that has some ruffles or raffia texture. A stripe that plays off the room, embroidery, sunglasses that add to the look instead of hiding behind them. Small choices, but they make lunch feel like the kind of thing you got dressed for.

Dressed for the Afterglow

Outfit Details: Rixo Dress, Miu Miu Bag, Ancient Greek Sandals, Carolina Bucci Necklace (similar, less expensive here and here)

There’s a specific kind of dressing that only happens as the sun starts to drop. The light goes warm and low, everything picks up a little shine, and I want to be wearing something that catches it.

That instinct is exactly what pulled me toward this Rixo dress. Between the mirrored embroidery and the rainbow watercolor effect, it’s the kind of piece that feels special without trying too hard. Fun, a little dazzling, easy to fall for. This edit follows the same idea. Every piece has some shine, sparkle, or bit of embellishment that comes alive as the day winds down, all in those warm, glowy tones that feel just right for July nights.
