76ers limit Warriors to 2 free throws in blowout win
Feb 3, 2026; San Francisco, California, USA; Philadelphia 76ers forward Dominick Barlow (25) shoots over Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski (2) during the second period at Chase Center. Mandatory Credit: Justine Willard-Imagn Images VJ Edgecombe scored a game-high 25 points, Andre Drummond produced a double-double while subbing for Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers ran away from the Golden State Warriors for a 113-94 victory in San Francisco on Tuesday.
Six other Philadelphia players scored in double figures in a balanced attack that allowed the 76ers to extend their winning streak to five games while completing a sweep of the Los Angeles Clippers and Warriors in a road back-to-back.
The Warriors were playing their seventh straight game without Jimmy Butler III (knee), and Stephen Curry sat out for the second time in four games because of a sore knee.
Embiid was given the night off after putting in 32 minutes and contributing 24 points to the Sixers’ 128-113 victory over the Clippers.
The 76ers led by just three at halftime before scoring the first nine points of the third quarter to pull away.
Kelly Oubre Jr. nailed a 3-pointer and Edgecombe hit a 10-footer during the surge that opened a 12-point lead before Gui Santos got Golden State on the scoreboard for the first time in the second half with a 3-pointer at the 7:32 mark.
The visitors’ shared approach kept the Warriors at arm’s length the rest of the way, as the 76ers used a 25-8 dominance on the offensive boards and a 16-1 advantage in free-throw points to overcome being outshot 47.4% to 45.2% overall and 39.6% to 34.2% on 3-point attempts.
Golden State were awarded just two free-throw attempts over the 48 minutes — by Buddy Hield. It was just the ninth time in NBA history (regular season and postseason) a team attempted two or fewer foul shots in a game.
Drummond had six of the 76ers’ offensive boards among 12 total to go with 12 points in 29 minutes. Dominick Barlow snatched six off the offensive glass — his night’s overall total — to complement 10 points.
Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 14 points for the visitors, going 7-for-7 at the foul line. Trendon Watford finished with 16 points, Oubre 15, Adem Bona 11 and Quentin Grimes 10.
Edgecombe, who shot 11-for-20, also had a game-high seven assists.
Santos and Pat Spencer shared Golden State team-high scoring honors with 13 points apiece in the club’s fifth loss in seven games.
Moses Moody added 12 points for the Warriors, while Al Horford, Quinten Post and De’Anthony Melton each had 10 apiece.
Melton also found time for six rebounds and a team-high six assists, while Draymond Green was Golden State’s leading rebounder with seven to complement six points.

Skidding Knights attempt to get well against lowly Canucks
Apr 6, 2025; Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN; Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel (9) during a stop in play against the Vegas Golden Knights in the third period at Rogers Arena. Mandatory Credit: Bob Frid-Imagn Images The Vegas Golden Knights will try to snap the longest active losing streak in the NHL when they host the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
Vegas, which is challenging for first place in the Pacific Division, has lost five in a row and dropped seven of its past eight games (1-5-2). For the season, the Golden Knights have more losses (30, 14 in extra time) than wins (25).
Vegas comes in off a 4-3 road loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. That contest followed what has become a familiar script for coach Bruce Cassidy’s squad, falling behind early and then rallying in the third period to make things interesting at the end.
Anaheim led 3-0 midway through the second period, but the Golden Knights cut the deficit to one on goals by Mitch Marner and Ivan Barbashev. Ryan Poehling sealed the win for the Ducks by finding the empty net with 1:07 left. Tomas Hertl scored a 6-on-5 goal with 6 seconds remaining for Vegas, which couldn’t get another shot off after that.
The Golden Knights have allowed the first goal in seven consecutive home games and eight of 10 games overall. Cassidy became so frustrated after his team fell behind 4-1 after two periods in an eventual 5-4 shootout loss to the visiting Dallas Stars on Thursday that he held a video session between periods to try to get his team on track.
“I don’t know if I’ve done that in 10 years,” Cassidy, who also called his team’s turnover problems in their own zone “baffling.”
He added, “It’s strange in the NHL that you’d be doing that midgame, but if that’s what it takes to get their attention and get it right, then that’s what we’ll have to do. We’re going to do whatever it takes to win, or play better.”
Vegas followed that up with a 3-2 home loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday before losing in Anaheim on Sunday. Cassidy said he saw signs in the contests that his team, which plays at Los Angeles on Thursday in the second game of a back-to-back before heading into the Olympic break, is showing signs toward making a turnaround.
“Both our last games, our expected goals were very low,” Cassidy said following practice on Tuesday. “We’re defending better. … I don’t think we gave up much. Very few odd-man rushes. So I like that part of our game, and have for most of the year.”
If there is a “get well” game on the schedule for Vegas, it would figure to be the Wednesday contest against the Canucks.
Vancouver is at the bottom of the league with 42 points and has lost 16 of its last 18 games (2-13-3). It will be the final game before the Olympic break for the Canucks, who haven’t won on the road in 2026. Vancouver’s last road victory came on Dec. 29 at Seattle, 3-2 in a shootout.
The Canucks come in off a 6-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth on Monday in Salt Lake City. Forwards Conor Garland (illness) and Filip Chytil (migraine headaches) both missed the team’s practice on Tuesday in Las Vegas. Garland is expected to play, but coach Adam Foote said “it doesn’t look promising” for Chytil to participate.
Canucks defenseman Marcus Pettersson said the team is focused on heading into the three-week hiatus on a positive note.
“Just (give it) everything you got,” Pettersson said. “We’ve got a big break coming up. Try to feel good coming into it. You never want to go into a break on a losing skid. One game. Give it everything you got. Play harder.”
The Wednesday matchup is the first of the teams’ three regular-season meetings. Vegas is 18-4-3 all-time against the Canucks, having won the past four.

Dak Prescott tosses 4 TDs as NFC wins fourth straight Pro Bowl Games
Feb 2, 2026; San Francisco, CA, USA; Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) during NFC practice at the NFL Flag Fieldhouse at Moscone Center South Building. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes to lead the NFC to a come-from-behind 66-52 win over the AFC in the Pro Bowl Games Tuesday in San Francisco.
Prescott completed 11 of 13 passes for 169 yards with a pair of touchdowns in each half, as the NFC secured fourth win in as many years of this updated version of the All-Star event.
This year’s games did away with the skills competitions and was solely the flag-football game to build hype around the sport, which is coming to the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
Prescott’s Dallas teammate CeeDee Lamb led the NFC with 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another Cowboys player, tight end Jake Ferguson, also had two touchdown catches and 57 receiving yards, and Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown caught five passes for 68 yards and a score.
Jared Goff (149 yards, two TDs) from Detroit and Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts (92 yards, three TDs) also saw the field as NFC QBs.
An Ohio-centric quarterback room led the AFC’s offense. Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and Bengals QBs Joe Burrow and first-time Pro Bowler Joe Flacco each threw for two touchdowns, but also threw a combined four interceptions.
Texans receiver Nico Collins led the AFC with 93 receiving yards and a score on five catches, and Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase caught seven passes for 76 yards with a receiving TD and an interception returned for another score.
After the NFC jumped out to a 14-0 lead, the AFC responded with 32 straight points, featuring a pair of safeties, a 50-yard interception return by Chase and both a touchdown catch and an extra-point grab from Broncos offensive lineman Garrett Bolles.
But the NFC cut the deficit to 44-36 at halftime and scored 24 straight second-half points to take a 60-52 lead with 6:21 left on a 10-yard Cowboys connection from Prescott to George Pickens, who was named the offensive MVP.
Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr., the game’s defensive MVP, came up with a tip-drill interception on the ensuing AFC possession, and the NFC iced the game with Hurts’ touchdown to Lamb with 24 seconds left.
49ers legend Jerry Rice served as honorary coach for the NFC, with San Francisco quarterback Steve Young in the same role for the AFC.

Feb 3, 2026; Charlottesville, Virginia, USA; Virginia Cavaliers forward Thijs de Ridder (28) celebrates after a play in the first half against the Pittsburgh Panthers at John Paul Jones Arena. Mandatory Credit: Emily Faith Morgan-Imagn Images Sam Lewis scored 15 points, Thijs De Ridder had a double-double and No. 18 Virginia eased to a 67-47 win over Pitt on Tuesday night in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cavaliers (19-3, 8-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) have won eight of their last nine games. They improved to 11-1 at home and 17-1 when outrebounding the opposition, posting a 38-31 advantage over the smaller Panthers (9-14, 2-8).

Pitt has lost five of its last six games and fell to 1-6 on the road and 0-3 against Top 25 opponents. Cameron Corhen and Nojus Indrusaitis led the Panthers with 11 points each.
Virginia grabbed the lead for good at 10-7, led by 13 at halftime and was never threatened in the second half.
The Cavaliers led 49-32 with 11:07 left in the game on a dunk by Ugonna Onyenso, who had five points, six boards and four blocks.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Lewis stretched the lead to 55-37 with 7:32 to play.
The Cavaliers shot 35.5% from beyond the arc (11 of 31), with eight players making at least one triple.
Virginia scored 23 points off 17 Pitt turnovers and limited the Panthers to 37.0% shooting (17 of 46).
None of the Cavaliers’ opponents has shot 50% from the field this season and 12 have shot worse than 40%.
After a sluggish start following a 9 p.m. ET tip-off, Virginia used a 12-0 run to open a 15-7 lead.
The Cavaliers’ lead reached double figures at 24-14 on a layup by Thomas with 5:48 remaining.
Virginia led by as many as 14 points in the first half and held a 33-20 advantage at intermission.
